Winslow was our first stop on our cross-country flight to Sun 'n Fun in Lakeland Florida. And, yes, we did stand on THE corner next to the statue of Jackson Browne. Our flight out and back covered nearly 5,000 statute miles in seven flying days. We stopped sixteen times for fuel or sleep, flew below the clouds at 1,500 feet and above them at 13,500 feet (with oxygen), and burned a little over 100 gallons of 100LL - averaging about 4 gallons per hour at max gross weight. Securely tied down at Sun n Fun in Lakeland, FL. We got here a few days early to get ahead of the storms that are battering the midwest. During the three day trip we burned 52 gallons of 100LL and averaged 39 mpg (roughly 7.8 cents per mile)!
If you are here for the fly-in, stop by to say hello, and take a look at my SunDancer Motor Glider. Phone 559-289 -5519 for directions to our location. |
