Although each SUNDANCER is assembled and test flown at the factory, it arrives in the USA disassembled and carefully packed into a shipping container. Licensed mechanics then attach the wings, horizontal stabilizer and ballistic parachute, and carefully check each component, including the engine, before requesting an FAA airworthiness certificate.
This is the first engine run up of a brand spankin' new SUNDANCER. Notice the tricycle undercarriage. Notice the grin on the pilot’s face! And yes, the engine cowling is included.
No hangar? No problem! We're proud to announce that we are now distributors of Bruce's Custom Covers, the ultimate in aircraft protection. Bruce's uses digital scanning technology to produce covers that are a custom fit for SUNDANCER. Whether it is simply a travel canopy cover or covers for the entire aircraft, Bruce's can have your SUNDANCER protected in as little as two weeks from your order date.
Freshly out of its shipping container, this tricycle geared SUNDANCER (also notice the tailwheel version in the background) is being prepared for delivery to very happy owners in California. (and yes, wings are included).
Our latest arrival tipped the scales with an empty weight of just 736 pounds. Subtracting that from its (S-LSA limited) gross take-off weight of 1,320 pounds leaves a useful load of 584 pounds. That's equal to two 180 lb pilots, 26 gallons of fuel, and 60 pounds of baggage.
Also, the distribution of empty weight puts the center of gravity exactly at the position of the pilot's shoulder. Pretty cool, huh?
It's probably the best $30 investment a SUNDANCER owner can make. Rotax-Owner.com is a one-stop place for all things Rotax. The site will keep you up to date with the latest Rotax manuals and service bulletins, let you communicate with other Rotax owners, and give you access to 70 how-to videos.
